Extract password protected ZIP files In Hosting Using PHP

We see how to extract a password-protected ZIP file into the Hosting File Manager using php file or Terminal / SSH (if available)

But most of the shared hosting control panels ( like cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc. ) do not support extracting password-protected ZIP files directly from the File Manager GUI.

So now we see how to extract a password-protected file using Terminal/SSH & using a PHP script.

1. Use Terminal / SSH

Replace your_password with your ZIP password and file.zip with your file name. If this method is not working in your hosting, then follow the 2 steps.

unzip -P your_password file.zip

2. Use a PHP Script

If you don’t have SSH Access, you can use this PHP script to extract your zip file. This step is effortless.

$password = 'your_password';
